The artwork in this series was painted by Chinese artists, they were commissioned to capture the flora and fauna, wild animals and birds of South East Asia by Major - General William Farquhar, a British resident of Malacca. The resulting unique style in which the artist undertook their work was known as ‘Company School’, due to the fact that the patrons for their talent all worked for The East India Company. This series is extremely rare!
